Buddhist Boot Camp
Re: Buddhist Boot Camp
His "altar" is properly non-sectarian, as is his life and teachings. Cannot know his mind, but his words & actions look properly simple & virtuous.
Overall, his emphasis on external simplicity as fostering internal calm works for him. "Simple living & high thinking" was the motto of somebody -- maybe Henry David Thoreau.
Western folk are pretty locked into external-fixes-internal living, thus the Tiny house, shipping Container movement nowadays. With a major Recession nearing, not a bad notion for we spoiled First Worlders.
A true mind and true intent bring truth within truth. True practice and true cultivation take the truth beyond truth. True behavior and true conduct add truth to truth. In everything and every way, be true, true, true. Master Hua

Re: Buddhist Boot Camp

I live in a fairly large house, but I still try to be somewhat of a minimalist.

I don't have any grass lawns, it's all desert xeriscaping, very little water usage, electric and hybrid cars, and solar panels.
